THE FENCE:

American Society of Media Photographers/New Mexico and United Photo Industries brings THE FENCE to the Railyard Park for the second year in the summer of 2017. Since its launch in Brooklyn five years ago, THE FENCE has consistently attracted exceptional work by talented photographers from around the world, sharing powerful photographic narratives with a diverse audience of millions of visitors annually. Each year, an international jury of photography professionals is called upon to review and select 40 photographers whose submitted work exemplifies the essence of “community” across cultural boundaries and geographical lines. The selected projects will be presented in a series of large-scale, curated, outdoor exhibitions in seven cities in the United States: Brooklyn, Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Santa Fe, Denver, Durham. THE FENCE exhibition in Santa Fe will include a section highlighting the projects of New Mexican photographers, juried by luminaries in the New Mexico photographic community.

Railyard Art Committee

The Railyard Art Committee (RAC) invites both individuals and creative teams to propose visual and performing art projects that are vital, lively and experimental for temporary installation within the Railyard Park + Plaza. RAC will select thoughtful, playful art in the context of social, cultural expression and environmental sustainability. Such issues may include – but are not limited – cultural heritage, site history, ecological restoration, and the building of a sustainable future. Most importantly, projects should emphasize community enjoyment, engagement and participation.  http://railyardpark.org/public-art-program-2/
